SEPTEMBER 11, 1973| SANTIAGO- God-Given Wisdom from a Voice of Authority explores how power and authority is constructed with images, both past and present. Inspired by the wealth of historic documentaries, propaganda films and commercials on Internet Archives.
Beginning with an old educational flick featuring the typically staid, male authority figure, I began compiling images shot on the Alameda miltary base, a wedding, and shots of my son and wife sleeping.
